operations started as early as 1911 as Hospital del Sur or

Hospital. It was formally established on April 11, 1931 and

granted
legal status through R.A. 2725. At ninety four (94) years
old, this |
| |
|
hospital
stands proud as the largest government medical center south
of |

Manila. |

With
only 30 beds at its inception, the then SIMC progressed to
a 400-bed |

|
medical
with a complement of almost 500 beds. It is also a recipient
of the |

JICA
program and through an OPD building is constructed. This building

equipped
with state of the art medical diagnostic equipment. |

from 200 to 225 to accomodate the increasing number of clients. |

of a Birthing Center with a 2 rooms and a kitchen was completed

is at present operational. |

started. The hospital is nationally funded and presently implementing

general hospital. |

Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital |

Don
Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital is a 50-bed capacity hospital
located |

at
Ubay, Bohol. It is an extension hospital of Gov. Celestino
Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH)
and was realized through the initiative of the before Congressman
Enrico Aumentado. Last July 7, 1999, the hospital operated
in an out-patient capacity. Staff from GCGMH managed the OPD
operations, supplies and materials are also
catered from Gallares. The hospital was evaluated on the basis
of operations activities and was given license to operate
last June 3, 2003 as an Infirmary (Primary)
Health Facility with 27 authorized bed capacity.
In
the concept of Primary Health Care, Don Emilio del Valle
Memorial Hospital will be a referral
hospital providing comprehensive, efficient, effective hospital
health service from compassionate, competent and committed
personnel to a catchment area on the Eastern side of Bohol.
As
a referral hospital, Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital
is committed to uphold the concept of
“Sentrong Sigla” ideal of DOH, attained proficient
surgical capabilities to answer hospital health needs of
the communities/catchment’s area in advocacy of District
Health System.
